One Trustmark: They have our back

By: Alex Moral, Senior Vice President, Voluntary Benefits

“They have our back”

I hear that time and time again from broker customers who work with our Voluntary Benefits team.

It is music to my ears.

Good service means that customers know that you will serve as their advocate, not only identifying problems if they arise but identifying issues before they become problems. That’s what we aim for as a company. And, over the years, it’s come to define not just our work in voluntary benefits, but the work of Trustmark as a whole. As you may or may not know, Trustmark is comprised of several businesses that share this commitment to service, to putting our clients first and to going beyond.

We realize that, to deliver the most effective story about our company and to deliver the best possible solutions, we need to simplify. To better serve you―our clients―we need better collaboration between all the services that Trustmark can offer and an easier way to share those services. That’s why we’re making the transition for all of our businesses to become one Trustmark brand. With all of us working together, Trustmark can provide you with more comprehensive benefit solutions and more effective service.

The decision to make this change took time and a lot of thought. In preparation, we conducted extensive research with brokers, employers and internal leadership. A series of building blocks, common traits among all of Trustmark, emerged from the research, and they reflect many of the values I touched upon earlier: genuine caring for each other, our clients and our clients’ employees; meaningfully different relationships and a client-first culture.

It is truly rewarding having these traits affirmed because I can tell you I see them demonstrated every day. We put our customers at the center of everything we do, from our culture to our product suite to the service we provide. The kind of relationships we build at Trustmark are meaningful. I’ve seen instances where my colleagues work with multiple generations of a family brokerage house, of relationships that begin as business and gradually evolve into friendships. Where appreciation, mutual respect and trust are constants.

As we reintroduce ourselves to the market with a more cohesive and comprehensive story under a single brand, we have a tremendous opportunity to explore new opportunities with our partners. I look forward to working with you to build upon existing relationships and create new ones as we share our compelling story. Together, as one Trustmark, we can embody those words more than ever: “They have our back.”
